Xinyi is an experienced practitioner psychologist specialising in Developmental Psychology, Attachment Therapy, self-identity and Crisis Management. With 10 years of professional practice, her areas of expertise include:

  • Providing psychological assessments and therapy to individuals, couples, families and groups to address a variety of emotional and behavioural challenges including anxiety, anger, self-identity, and relationship issues. Xinyi is also adept in addressing self-injurious and suicidal behaviours, attachment disorders, emotional functioning, and trauma.
  • Development of intervention programmes addressing sexually inappropriate behaviours in children and youth, and violent behaviours.
  • Experience in delivering consultations and training to representatives from the government and community sectors, both in Singapore and abroad.
  • Providing crisis intervention in her capacity as a Caring Actions in Response to Emergencies (CARE) officer. Xinyi was Deputy Head CARE of the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF), and oversaw operational deployment, training of new officers, and provision of crisis support to Singapore citizens and their next-of- kin involved in critical incidents locally and internationally.
